
SPOKANE, Wash. (May 29, 2008) - "All Event" tickets and Skating Spectacular tickets for the 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Spokane, Wash., will go on sale this Saturday, May 31, at 1 p.m. EST (10 a.m. PST). The All Event ticket package guarantees access to all competition sessions, as well admission to all practice sessions at Spokane Arena. The package does not include admission to the Skating Spectacular on Jan. 24, which may be purchased in addition to the package.
A special payment plan has just been announced. The payment plan provides an opportunity for the ticket purchaser to hold a seat with a$200 deposit. The ticket purchaser will then pay the remaining balance over three payments; November 2008, May 2009 and November 2009.
The ticket price for an All Event ticket is $595 and the Skating Spectacular ticket is $75. These are the only tickets available at this time. If individual session tickets are still available, they will go on sale just a few months prior to the competition.
The competition begins Jan. 15, 2010, and ends with the Ladies Free Skate Final on Saturday, Jan. 23. The Skating Spectacular will take place on Sunday, Jan. 24, as all the event medalists celebrate with a grand finale performance.
The 2010 U.S. Championships will be managed locally by Star USA. Star USA spearheaded the effort that led to Spokane's hosting the 2007 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which attracted a record crowd of154,893. Star USA also hosted 2002 Skate America, which attracted a record attendance of 28,664 for the four-day event.
The Spokane Arena, a10,500-seat, multi-use facility that opened in 1995, will serve as the sole venue for the event. The arena has been the site for a number of major sporting events including 2002 Smart Ones Skate America, the 1996 U.S. Olympic wrestling trials and the 1998 Memorial Cup (the Canadian Hockey League's championship event).
The 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships' website,www.spokane2010.com, will be the one-stop shop for the most up-to-date information regarding the event. Visitors can book hotel rooms, purchase tickets, reserve rental cars and scout the best restaurants and entertainment.
